CARB Whistleblower! He's a UCLA Professor!
Our guest: Dr James Enstrom Ph.D   www.JamesEnstrom.com

DR JAMES ENSTROM

Was formerly a Research Professor for the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Public Health for close to four decades. Dr. James Enstrom, Ph.D., has explored many of todays most pressing epidemiological issues. Since he joined UCLA in 1976 as an Assistant Research Professor in the area of scientific education, James Enstrom has investigated the changing face of public health through a variety of research projects, studies, and papers. Currently, Enstroms research centers on epidemiological patterns associated with cancer and similar conditions, largely focusing on demographics in California.

Across his lengthy career in the field, James Enstrom has produced numerous and diverse health studies that help shape medical advice on how to avoid illness and extend the lifespan. Some of his earliest work from 1975 highlights the relatively low cancer mortality rate among Mormons. This study contributed to the now widely credited link between abstinence from alcohol and cigarettes and a longer life. Subsequent studies that he led or co-authored include examinations of the potential links between incidences of cancer and ingestion of dietary fat, residency near nuclear power plants, and consumption of beef. James Enstrom holds scientific and research qualifications that include postdoctoral certification from UCLA in Cancer Epidemiology.

CARB Whistleblower! He's a UCLA Professor (information)
Epidemiologist James Enstroms appointment ended because his research on air pollution did not align with the department mission and failed to reach funding requirements, according to a June 9 layoff notice from Richard Jackson, environmental health sciences department chair.

Enstrom contended that the short explanation given for his nonreappointment is invalid and filed an appeal.

When (people) make an outrageous statement like my research isnt aligned with the mission of the department its patently false, said Enstrom, who has worked at UCLAs School of Public Health for more than 34 years.
