We, Guy and Anita, have dated since the 8th grade, have now been
married for 40 years, have 3 sons, and 9 grandchildren. We have an
agricultural background and are Northern California natives. Our
ministry experiences include church planting, pastoral ministry,
Christian Schools, and Christian counseling, including Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical
Counselor.
Over the years, the Lord has allowed a rich diversity in our
experiences. Like most people, that rich diversity is usually
appreciated more in hind sight, than at the moment. But the
experiences and challenges in life equip all of us to speak more
effectively into one another’s lives, and sharing in our
experiences, in light of God’s Word, defines our ministry. It is
through God’s Word that life makes sense and our world view is
established.
Two passages of Scripture have become our life testimony. Jeremiah
18:1-6 – “The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying:
“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you
to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there
he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made
of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again
into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make…as the
clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, … “ God is
glorified as we recognize His role as the potter, and ours as the
clay, marred by sin, but made new into a vessel of God’s own
choosing. Our lives represent brokenness and restoration in the
hands of God.
The second passage similarly represents God’s restorative power.
After the Patriarch Job had lost everything, God restored his life.
Job 42:1:2 – “Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than
his beginning.” God turns our sorrows into joy! And we have the
blessed promise that when Jesus returns He will renew all things and
multiply His blessings 100 fold.
Redding Christian Fellowship is a ministry of restoration, of
emotional healing, of allowing the Grace of God to deliver us from
our shame and sin. We welcome all generations to experience the love
and acceptance of Christ through our Church Body.
