Dr. Wen Chen

Wen was born in China during the Great Cultural Revolution. Being victims of the horrific atrocity that killed two million intellectuals and destroyed traditional Chinese culture, Wen's parents had mixed feelings about her education. Despite their discouragement, Wen eventually won a national prize at a science competition when she was 16. Hence, she was accepted into a top university for undergraduate study. In 1994, Wen came to the U.S. for graduate school and received a doctorate degree in Biology at California Institute of Technology in 2000. Dr. Chen currently works as a staff scientist for the institute. Because of her personal experience of being brainwashed in China, she decided to be a voice for the voiceless. Since 2012, she has given over 200 presentations to community organizations about Chinese culture, history, and human rights.

Her topics on today's show will include:

  • Dr. Chen's personal life
  • How Forced Organ Harvesting was first disclosed in LA
  • Why is it NOT known by many in the Western world
  • Why should it be a concern for each of us

CHINA'S OVERSEAS UNITED FRONT WORK: BACKGROUND AND IMPLICATIONS FOR THE UNITED STATES

https://www.uscc.gov/Research/china%E2%80%99s-overseas-united-front-work-background-and-implications-united-states

Summary:
China uses “United Front” work to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The CCP’s United Front Work Department (UFWD)—the agency responsible for coordinating these kinds of influence operations—mostly focuses on the management of potential opposition groups inside China, but it also has an important foreign influence mission. To carry out its influence activities abroad, the UFWD directs “overseas Chinese work,” which seeks to co-opt ethnic Chinese individuals and communities living outside China, while a number of other key affiliated organizations guided by China’s broader United Front strategy conduct influence operations targeting foreign actors and states. Some of these entities have clear connections to the CCP’s United Front strategy, while others’ linkage is less explicit. Today, United Front-related organizations are playing an increasingly important role in China’s broader foreign policy under Chinese President and General Secretary of the CCP Xi Jinping. It is precisely the nature of United Front work to seek influence through connections that are difficult to publically prove and to gain influence that is interwoven with sensitive issues such as ethnic, political, and national identity, making those who seek to identify the negative effects of such influence vulnerable to accusations of prejudice. Because of the complexities of this issue, it is crucial for the U.S. government to better understand Beijing’s United Front strategy, its goals, and the actors responsible for achieving them if it is to formulate an effective and comprehensive response.

 The Renaissance of Chinese Culture

Chinese wisdom and traditions have been passed down for over 5,000 years and regarded as gifts from the heavens. But the Chinese Communist Party has nearly destroyed this rich, traditional culture during the past 60 years. The destruction of China’s traditional beliefs and the moral foundation has resulted in social, political, and economic problems. An increasing number of Chinese want to see a renaissance of their traditional culture. One manifestation of this is Shen Yun Performing Arts from New York. Through exceptional dance skills, fascinating stories and legends, breathtaking backdrops, a full, live orchestra that combines Western and Chinese musical instruments, and hundreds of richly-colored costumes, Shen Yun brings China’s traditional values to life.

Traditional Chinese Attire

Ancient China was called “a country of etiquette”. Legends say immortals from different paradises came to earth and reincarnated into humans, bringing the Chinese culture. And clothes is one of the gifts brought by these heavenly beings. The design of Chinese clothes imitate the styles of heavenly beauties or divine beings. Every Dynasty had different clothes and accessories. Which reflected the life style and attitude of the society at that time. This talk will introduce the origin and unique feature of traditional Chinese attire, and a brief overview of styles from different dynasties or ethnic groups.

The Science of Tea Making

Tea, discovered in China at ~2700 B.C as a herb, is now a popular drink worldwide. From tree harvest to a cup, every step of the elaborate tea making process can be adjusted to produce different flavors. Tang Dynasty (7th - 10th century) is the turning point for tea to become a daily drink instead of medicine, hence started tea ceremonies among the royal courts, temples, and intellectuals. Numerous poets and art pieces in ancient China are associated with tea. Audiences will learn how the culture of tea evolved from dynasty to dynasty, leading to more and more varieties that we see today. Audiences will also learn how different kinds of tea are created, the best way to brew them, and their different medical benefits.

Human Rights Movement in China

Millions of Chinese people have been arrested for their spiritual beliefs or political views. They have not only been tortured and forced to do slave labor, but also killed for their organs. While it takes two-to-three years in the U.S. to wait for matching organs, it takes two-to-four weeks in China. The state-sanctioned organ harvesting towards prisoners of conscience has been operated by the Chinese police, legal and military system. Evidence and international responses about forced organ harvesting in China will be presented, as well as the following: how the Chinese Communist Party penetrates U.S. society to influence decision makers; the human rights movement in China which began in 2004; innovation that allows people to bypass China's Internet blockade; human rights lawyers in China; the movement of quitting the Chinese Communist Party; and more than 220,000 lawsuits against former dictator Jiang Zemin.

North Korea and China

In the conflict between the U.S. and North Korea, which side is China on? For over 60 years, China has been supporting its communist neighbor and keeping an ally to resist the society of freedom. China has been supporting the Kim regime by contributing to 90% of North Korea's export income, providing material and technology for North Korea's nuclear power behind the scene, and sending refugees back to North Korean concentration camps. The Chinese regime also uses North Korea as a bargaining chip with the U.S., claiming that China is the only one that can bring North Korea to the table. However, the Kims have not been willing to be puppet rulers, especially when the Chinese regime is now under an internal power struggle, with conflicting voices towards North Korea from two political forces. An in-depth analysis of the current situation of the Chinese Communist Party will help us to find the best solution for the future of North Korea, China, and the U.S.

June (no last name posted for her safety)

As a former member of the Chinese Communist Party, June shares her journey from indoctrination by the Chinese government to an unvarnished understanding of American freedom and liberty. Lively and engaging, June will hold you in rapt attention as she discusses her own experiences, and sounds a warning signal to all Americans about the ever-encroaching threats of and communism.

My Journey from Communism, and the Dangerous Trends

I see in America Today

DNC Chairman Tom Perez calls socialist candidates the future of the Democratic Party!

Millions of Young Americans are following Bernie Sanders into socialism!

China has always claimed to be a socialist!

Socialism and its big brother, Communism, has been tried for more than 100 years by hundreds of millions of people, and the results are always the same: Its fruits are death, destruction, and despair.

While the threat of terrorism is visible to Americans as they are forced through more and more security screenings, infiltration of socialism and communism in our country is mostly hidden. Silently and effectively, they have eroded the foundation of America through systematic attacks on our education system, economy, morality, and traditional culture. As our nation is horribly divided, it is vital for all of us to recognize this new form of evil in order to win this battle.

Born and raised in China, June graduated from one of the top universities where she became a member of the communist party. In the late 1990s she came to the U.S. hoping to advance her career. She has been involved in public speech to offer honest insights of China and to raise awareness of China’s Human Rights issues since 2008.

In addition to her public involvement, June has a Master’s degree in MBA. She has been working for a Fortune 100 company for over 17 years as a management professional. June is an avid world traveler, a leisure sailor and a hard-core hiker.

“I came away from June's talk with a whole new perspective on human rights. Her chilling account of life inside communist China provided insight that I would not have otherwise encountered. Her sensitive and articulate presentation was both educational and enlightening. If you have the opportunity, please don't miss hearing her speak!
